Okay so here are my favorite albums & mixtapes in 2010. In no particular order:
Standout track(s): Baby Father
Thoughts: Classic return by the group that brought us hits such as “Smooth Operator”, “No Ordinary Love” and “Paradise”.
Standout track(s): Role Reversal, 1000 Faces, Inseperable, Stuck In The Moment
Thoughts: Another great album from Joey in which it shows some of his best work yet.
Standout track(s): Tangerine, You Ain’t No DJ, Back Up Plan
Thoughts: Great debut album from Big Boi.
Standout track(s): Nothin’ On You, Airplanes (I & II), The Kids, Magic
Thoughts: Hip Hop’s 2010 Rookie Of The Year caught radio and video play with Nothin’ On You. He opened for Eminem and Jay-Z during the “Home & Home” concert series and nabbed some Grammy nods as well. He also released a mixtape entitled “No Genre” in late 2010.
5.
Standout track(s): Glory Box, Civil War, Liberation Time
Thoughts: A great mixtape that showed that some female artists are still worthy of putting out great music.
Standout track(s): The Strong Survive, Love U Crazy, Make It Back Home
Thoughts: An EP that Nikki Lynette release in September 2010 that showed more of her artistic range.
Standout track(s): Stutter, Never Gonna Leave This Bed, Out Of Goodbyes
Thoughts: Excellent album. If you purchased the Deluxe, there’s a great live cover of Alicia Keys “If I Ain’t Got You”.
Standout track(s): Cheers, California King Bed, Fading
Thoughts: Surprisingly enjoyable album.
Standout track(s): Authenticity, Maybe She’ll Dream Of Me, This City Ain’t The Same Without You
Thoughts: Excellent album that shows the ups and downs of relationships.
Standout track(s): All Of The Lights, Devil In A Blue Dress, Hell Of A Life
Thoughts: Very excellent album by Kanye West.

Duffy – Endlessly
Redman – Reggie
Plain White T’s – Wonders Of The Young
Chrisette Michele – Let Freedom Ring
The Floacist – Floetic Soul
J. Cole – Friday Night Lights
