Album Review: Nicki Minaj – Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded

Nicki Minaj is one of the biggest acts going right now. As much as it pains me to say that, it’s fact. With the success of her debut album, Pink Friday, Onika is back with her sophomore effort Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.

To sum this up in short: This album isn’t for you if you’re expecting something different. About 50% Pop tracks, 20% Rap tracks and 30% of what the fuck is that shit.

Feature wise, 2 Chainz steals the show on “Beez In The Trap”. Rick Ross and Cam’ron dances circles around her on “I Am Your Leader”. Nas triumphs on “Champion” along side Nicki, Drake and Young Jeezy. The ‘Pop’ tracks are annoying to listen to. “Starships” sounds like she’s trying to bring back 80’s records.

In closing, it’s safe to say that Nicki Minaj isn’t a female emcee. She’s a pop artist who will occasionally rap. We’ll see how the public reacts to this in the upcoming months.
