Midweek Thoughts 10/30/13

5 thoughts in the middle of the week.

1. NBA Back: Last night, we saw the return of Derrick Rose in a loss to the Miami Heat and a Lakers squad led by their bench players upset a Clippers squad in Doc Rivers coaching debut. The Wizards start their season against at the Detroit Pistons. Hopefully, they will make a strong run this season.

2. Orioles Talk: Orioles hired Dave Wallace, who was most recently the Atlanta Braves Minor League pitching coordinator, as the Orioles new pitching coach. Also J.J. Hardy, Manny Machado and Adam Jones all won Gold Gloves on yesterday.

3. R.I.P. Jam Master Jay: It was eleven years today that Jam Master Jay was gunned down at a studio in Queens, NY. His murder still stands as one of hip-hop’s biggest losses.

4. Allen Iverson To Officially Retire From Basketball: During tonight’s Heat/Sixers game, Allen Iverson will officially announce his retirement. Iverson was one of the best point guards in the league and despite him trying to get back into the league, he admitted that today he wouldn’t be ready. There won’t be another one like A.I.

5. Ywada sings about ‘End Of The Road’: Another artist that I’ve been seeing on VH1 Soul’s ‘Sub Soul’ is Ywada and she has a new video called “End Of The Road” which is a great record in my opinion. Hope that she gets the proper shine that she deserves.
