Midweek Thoughts 2/28/18

Good day, readers! It’s time for another edition of Midweek Thoughts. On with this week’s post!

1. Atlanta Returns on March 1st: The hit show on FX returns on Thursday, March 1st and I can’t wait to watch. The first season sparked much conversation and laughs, I’m sure that Donald Glover and company won’t let us down this next go round.

2. Black Panther Success: With the success that Black Panther has produced, hopefully this will kick the door open for more Black films to receive this type of success. There are a lot of talented Black writers and directors looking to have their stories told.

3. Rap Quote:

“Only thing he knows is how to survive
But will he kill another brother before he dies?
In the ghetto, you keep one eye open
All day long, just hoping and hoping
You can pay your bills and not drink too much
Then the problems of life you’ll be throwing up
Like me, but you don’t see
Ten years from now, where will you be?” – Too $hort from “The Ghetto

4. Unsolved: The Murders Of Tupac And The Notorious B.I.G.: The ten episode series premiered last night on the USA Network and while they covered the primary bases in the stories of both Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G., there were some gripes that I had with the story (Really? The LAPD just randomly dropping Biggie lines in normal conversation). Well, there’s nine more episodes to go but it’s still amazes me that twenty years later, there hasn’t been anyone arrested in the murders of both of these legendary hip-hop artists.

5. Change Happens: One thing that we must accept in life, we outgrow each other. It’s life. It’s the law of physics. Okay, not really but it’s human nature.
